-What inspires your work?
Life. Specifically my everyday life. I think artists try to express what they find fascinating about their own lives to other people through a medium. I was always awful at drawing and painting so I used photography as my expression of what I find beautiful in life which is usually everything.

-How long have you been doing photography?
My uncle used to let me mess around with his Polaroid camera when I was younger. The instantaneous nature of this camera was crazy to me. That this camera could capture a moment that could never be seen again is wild. I started pursuing photo intensely when I was 14 and a freshman in high school and I was awful. I got my own camera later that year and started shooting everyday. Repetition is the key to success.

-What equipment do you use?
Nikon N70, Nikon D40, Lomography Fisheye, Holga, Pinhole. I used film exclusively until two years ago when I got my dslr. The editing you can do in Lightroom is unbelievable. I still love film though, I mean its all about experimentation. For my college final portfolio my theme was mashups. I had one image of the chicago skyline and a picture of street drummers and somehow they ended up next to each other and ended up being [really] gorgeous. You just have to be willing to try anything until something works together.
