I was recently in Florence where I collaborated with a poet to make a film about a piece he was working on while there. The film records an interaction between his words and my images and has become both a documentary about the bipolarity of writing and an imaginative, visual interpretation of an emotionally heavy poem. The Poem and Film are both entitled “the Sorrowful” and were inspired by readings of Dante’s Inferno and visual depictions of hell found all over Florence. Hope you enjoy!
