Artist : Anna E. Jacobs (Q&A)

What inspired your picture?
I read an article from CNN not long ago which was talking about how much money is made on American flags that aren’t made in America and thought it was pretty ridiculous. That’s what this piece is based off, although a more general issue can be applied to it. Too often it seems impossible to find anything made in America when you’re shopping.

Most of my work in general is politically or socially inspired.

How long have you been practicing your craft?

I’ve been drawing since I was a kid, but only practicing art seriously for the last couple years in college.

What equipment did you use?
Graphite and color pencils, that’s pretty much it.
