Blaxploitation Art

Scream Blacula Scream entertained the hell out of me the other night all over again. But what I’d never noticed until this particular time watching it, was the opening credits and just how dope the artwork was. It had it’s own vibe, it’s own niche and it got me to thinking about Blaxploitation films overall, and how much originality there was in them. Those were some of the best soundtracks EVER, especially by Curtis Mayfield and Bobby Womack. The artwork was bachelor pad and mancave wall-worthy. And while the acting and graphics weren’t always the highlight, they were ALWAYS entertaining, and that’s what matters.
