A personal favorite of mine, J.Crew, unveils what shall be seen in their collection for the Fall of 2011. It’s pretty standard staples, and things that aren’t overly out of the ordinary in any sense, however J.Crew has the certain styling necessary to pull off often boring and mundane pieces, which then are combined with impeccable layering, and turn them into items of great desire when seen in catalog or online. Take a look and decide for yourself.

A piece I saw a lot of this year was the trilby and fedora hat. Whether it was in Target, Urban Outfitters, or just a vintage trilby hat someone found at a thrift store, it was definitely a popular choice for headwear. The trend is continued as J.Crew takes a felt trilby hat, and collaborates with leather goods brand Billykirk. It is made in the USA and features a dulled brass buckle on the leather wrap. Not only does this hat look very classy, but you can be guaranteed it is made intended to withstand time and trends.

While autumn is present, here’s a little preview of what you might be purchasing for Spring/Summer. J.Crew unveils their Fireman Jacket set to realease as part of their Spring/Summer 2010. Featuring what appear to be clasps instead of buttons or a zipper, it takes a completely different approach to a traditional Spring jacket. Frank Muytjens (the head of J.Crew’s men’s design) had a few words to say about the jacket as well:

“We particularly love it because of its utilitarian purposes and authentic functioning details. We updated it through fit and fabric and picked a gutsy waxed canvas to retain the masculine aura… gave it an aggressive wash to make it look broken in and used, a rugged look.”
